Ross Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 Review

Ross Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 Review

This wine is Ross Hill’s cabernet sauvignon from the 2024 vintage. Now, this is getting very interesting from Ross Hill, which has a new winemaker Chris Jessop.  They have released a series of very good wines indeed. This wine is a level up again. It is an outstanding cabernet sauvignon, and among the best I have tasted from the Orange region.  Cabernet from this region can be a little bit herbal and stalky; it’s fruit sometimes both too warm and too cool at the same time.  Here, the balance is found.  The wine has aromas of blackcurrant and bay leaf.  The palate is medium bodied, with blackcurrant and firm tannins.  It finishes with good length.  This is an outstanding wine that would sit comfortably near top Yarra Valley examples.  Drink it over the next decade or more.  Review Rating: Very Good to Outstanding (★★★★☆, 92 points). Source: Sample. Website: Ross Hill Wines. Tasted: August 2026.
