Wendouree Cabernet Sauvignon Review

Wendouree Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 Review

Wendouree have produced an outstanding cabernet sauvignon from the Clare Valley in South Australia and the 2023 vintage.  The wine has a dark colour in the glass.  There are aromas of clove, cedar and olives. The palate has dusty, firm tannins and olive and bay leaf characters.  There is a seriousness to its blackcurrant fruit which is ripe rather than rich.  It finishes with good length.  The 2023 vintage reminds of a Mount Mary Quintet from the Yarra Valley. Buy this wine if you can find it.  Give it a further 5 to 7 years in the cellar before drinking over the following decade.  Review Rating: Very Good to Outstanding (★★★★☆, 94 points). Website: NA.
