Lowestoft Pinot Noir Review

Lowestoft Pinot Noir 2021 Review

This is a high quality pinot noir from Lowestoft and the 2021 vintage.  This is the top label of Lowestoft. It is quite a different wine to my previous encounter with this producer.  The wine is from the Derwent Valley in southern Tasmania.  The 2021 vintage has aromas of strawberry, rose florals, stalks and spice.  The palate is full bodied initially, but settles into a red fruited more medium bodied style.  It gains intensity and linearity in its expression of red fruits with time in the glass.  Overall, this is very good drinking.  The wine can be approached now, but will benefit from several years in the cellar.  The alcohol is 14%.  Review Rating: Good to Very Good (★★★☆, 89 points).
