Ossa is a new producer and has immediately become one of Tasmania’s top producers of pinot noir. The 2022 vintage is quite good. It has intense aromas of red fruits, savoury undergrowth and mulch. The latter characters are well judged. The palate is medium to full bodied and has ripe, spicy red fruit characters. A slight detraction is a “spritz” character, typically but not always a sign of youth. Ready to drink now, this wine is very good, if not a pinnacle example.
