This is a first class wine from Los Vascos in Colchagua, Chile. Los Vascos is part of the Domaines Baron de Rothschild (Lafite) stable. The Le Dix is predominantly cabernet sauvignon, with minor contributions from carmenère and syrah. From the 2010 vintage, and mature, it has refined aromas of clove and blackcurrant. On the palate, the tannins are rich, supple and firm. There is considerable intensity of blackcurrant fruit framed by cedar and clove characters. The length on the finish is long. This is in the style of a cru classé left bank Bordeaux, with more intensity and generosity of fruit. Drink now and over the next decade. Review Rating: Outstanding (★★★★★, 95 points).
