There are three broad categories of Beaujolais I taste. Fairly neutral minerally styles with red fruits that provide pleasant current drinking. There’s a newer style that is almost malbec like in its sweet and sour fruitiness and alcohol weight. I would rather drink the malbec. And finally, there’s the style of this wine. This wine is a classic expression of Beaujolais with an aroma of fresh raspberry and a textured, chalky palate. It finishes with savoury red fruits. This is an excellent wine from Daniel Bouland, the Morgon appellation and the 2023 vintage. It is labelled as “Corcelette”. This wine is ready to drink now and can be drunk over the next few years.
