The wines of Wild Duck Creek in Heathcote, Victoria tantalise with their purity, quality of fruit and gifted winemaking yet frustrate with their persistently high alcohol levels. This is frankly a sublime example of Heathcote shiraz. There is a purity to it, with its pepper, eucalyptus, rosemary and plum aromas. There is long length on the finish, supplemented with pepper and spice. The alcohol is well hidden, but very high. If you like Grange, you will like this. Somehow this wine is almost elegant, with a pinpoint purity to it. This is an excellent vintage of this wine. Review Rating: Very Good to Outstanding (★★★★☆, 93 points).
