This is an interesting wine from Greenock Creek in the Barossa Valley. This producer is known for its high octane wines, the alcohols running in the 16s or even higher. These fruit first, second and third styles have their moments and I am not part of the crew that dismisses such styles per se for what amounts to a category of consumer preference. It is very limiting and inconsistently applied. This cabernet sauvignon however weighs in at a more classic 12.5. Fully mature, it has varietally correct aromas of leaves and blackcurrant. The palate is dry, somehow full bodied and it has medium tannins with a fine texture. A long finish of 25 seconds completes the wine. Ready to drink now with emerging tertiary characters, I would not give it longer than a further 2 to 3 years. Rating: Very Good. Website: Producer. Reviewed: July 2021.
