This wine is from Mora in Central Otago in New Zealand and the Pisa subregion. Pisa is in the “middle group” for growing season warmth among the Central Otago subregions, with Bannockburn the warmest and Gibbston the coolest. This wine from the 2024 vintage presents very much in a cooler style. There are high toned aromas of red fruits. The palate is restrained with red cherry fruits and high acidity. There is clear stylistic influence of Bourgogne rouge styles, though there is more fruit in this wine. Drink this restrained, red fruited style of Central Otago pinot noir over the next few years.
