Nicolas Jay Pinot Noir Review

Nicolas Jay Pinot Noir 2016 Review

This is a very Burgundian expression of pinot noir from Nicolas Jay in the Willamette Valley in Oregon.  I do not say this lightly.  It would take a very subtle, or lucky, blind taster to pick this wine as from somewhere else.  The wine has complex aromas of game, earth, bacon, stones, minerals and struck match.  The palate evolves in the glass   It’s medium bodied, has high, laser like acidity and gamey and savoury cherry characters.  Drink this serious wine over the next few years.  Review Rating: Very Good to Outstanding (★★★★☆, 93 points).
