This is an outstanding McLaren Vale shiraz from Cape Barren Wines, labelled as the “Rare Bird”. Traditionally crafted McLaren Vale shiraz has fallen from view in recent times. This is a pity, as it can provide exceptional drinking. From the 2020 vintage, this wine from Cape Barren has rich aromas of pepper, dark plums, vanilla, cedar and a little coconut. The palate is full bodied, soft and voluptuous, with long silky length on the finish. This is a traditional style of McLaren Vale shiraz at its pinnacle.
