2020 is regarded as a very good Barbaresco vintage. This wine is Giuseppe Cortese’s Rabaja, which is a wine from both a top producer and vineyard. In the glass, it has an elegant aroma of roses and licorice. The palate is full bodied, and its high acid spine very precisely pierces through it. A long, complex finish completes the picture. I expect this wine will continue to build complexity over the next decade and may take on a sublime character. It is in a subtle phase at the moment. It will benefit from long decanting, which is not something I typically recommend. Drink any time over the next twenty years. Review Rating: Very Good (★★★★, 93 points). Website: Giuseppe Cortese.
