This wine is from the highly regarded Piemonte wine cooperative, the Produttori Barbaresco. However, this bottle is not a fine example of nebbiolo from this producer. The wine has aromas of cooked red fruits and some oxidation characters in the form of a cut grass aromatics. The palate is high in acidity and a little cutting, leading to an impression of imbalance. This wine is fully mature and finishes with earthy and red fruit characters. While tempted to say this wine is a victim of poor cellaring, I can only describe what is before me. Drink now.
