Bellene Bourgogne Review

2021 Bourgogne from Domaine de Bellene

I have tasted many vintages of Domaine de Bellene’s good value Bourgogne, labelled as the “Maison Dieu”. The 2021 vintage tasted here is a savoury and mineral style. It has aromas of strawberry and a little leaf. The palate is restrained, minerally and has stone and red fruit characters. This is an earthy, less fruit driven style of pinot noir that is, for the most part, unique to Burgundy. A comparable style pinot noir is not typically produced in New Zealand or the United States, and certainly not in Australia. It would benefit, to be a little critical, from more primary fruit character. This wine is ready to drink now. Rating: Good (★★★, 87 points). Website: Domaine de Bellene. Tasted: December 2024.  Like the Review? Subscribe for free
