Veuve Clicquot is one of Champagne’s grandes marques and this a high quality vintage Champagne from the 2015 vintage. 2015 was a warm and therefore more challenging year in Champagne, where acidity is prized. Veuve’s 2015 vintage Champagne has fresh fruit aromas that are primarily of lemon, supplemented by subtle and limited bread and brioche characters. Veuve is a fresh rather than a toasty style, this wine particularly so. The palate is restrained and well proportioned with pinpoint high acidity supporting lemon and quince flavours. There is a complexity of flavour and bearing consistent with vintage Champagne, essential given the price tag. Overall, this is a high quality wine showing a subtle complexity.
