Cooks Lot are a small producer from the higher altitude Orange region in Australia, sourcing grapes from single vineyard parcels. Their current release white wines from the 2025 vintage are reviewed below. I recently reviewed their red wines here.
Cooks Lot Pinot Gris 2025 Review

Pinot gris can sometimes take on a slight pink tinge in its colour leading blind tasters astray, a task that is not challenging. This wine from Cooks Lot moves beyond that with skin contact likely and is a “full” rosé colour in the glass. It has aromas of blossoms and apple skins. The palate is dry, fresh and tangy, supported by high acidity. It’s a good wine and ready to drink now. Review Rating: Good to Very Good (★★★☆, 88 points). Tasted: March 2026. Like: Subscribe.
Cooks Lot Sauvignon Blanc 2025 Review

This is a very fragrant sauvignon blanc in the New Zealand style. The Orange region produces the closest Australian analogue of Marlborough style sauvignon blanc in my opinion. There are clarion like aromas of green capsicum and gooseberry. The palate is dry, flavoursome and supported by high acidity. Drink this high quality wine over the next couple of years. Review Rating: Very Good (★★★★, 90 points). Website: Cooks Lot Wines. Source: Sample. Tasted: March 2026. Like: Subscribe.
Cooks Lot Riesling 2025 Review

This is the final of the 2025 new release whites from Cooks Lot. This is a typical dry riesling style. It has a grassy aroma, supplemented by lemon and lime. The palate is dry and light to medium bodied. It has flavours of lemon, lemon pith and a limey finish with a little stone. Drink this over the next 5 to 7 years. Review Rating: Good (★★★☆, 88 points). Tasted: March 2026. Like: Subscribe.
