Cave d'Augustin Florent Touraine Review

La Cave d’Augustin Florent Touraine 2024 Review

Touraine is a good value substitute for Sancerre and new world sauvignon blanc. It doesn’t have the complexity of Sancerre, but neither does it have the price tag. Touraine can be quite aromatic and a little more like new world expressions, but the palate has a decidedly cooler character than is found in New Zealand or Chile.  Strangely enough, to get this cooler, more chiselled style in a New Zealand sauvignon blanc, you would be searching among the higher priced offerings. La Cave d’Augustin Florent is an own label of Carrefour. The 2024 vintage has aromas of gooseberry, passionfruit and apple.  The palate has clean high acidity and a tang to it. A fruity, very cool climate expression is ever present. For around $10, this is smart buying. Review Rating: Acceptable to Good (★★☆, 84 points). Website: NA. Tasted: January 2026.  Like: Subscribe.
