This is a youthful Chianti Classico from Rocca di Montegrossi. It’s in an early, austere phase. From the 2021 vintage, it has aromas of savoury cherries, dust and old cedar. The palate is medium bodied, the tannins are firm and it has high acidity. It’s an old school classic style, finishing with sour cherries. This wine would benefit from two to four years of cellaring before approaching. Alternatively, give it a long decant of a couple of hours. Its firm structure will support long ageing for a decade or more. Review Rating: Good to Very Good (★★★☆, 89 points). Website: Rocca di Montegrossi. Tasted: April 2025. Like: Subscribe.
