This is a good merlot from Schild Estate in the Barossa Valley. Bordeaux varieties grown in the warm Barossa Valley typically have a rich and generous fruit profile. The 2023 vintage has soft aromas of red and dark fruits and plum skins. The palate is full bodied, with characters of cedar, clove and some grip on the back palate. Dark fruits and fruit cake emerge on its warming finish. This wine is ready to drink now and over the next 5 years. Review Rating: Good (★★★, 88 points). Website: Schild Estate. Source: Sample.
