Stockman's Ridge Right Bank 2022

2022 Right Bank Blend: Stockman Ridge’s Merlot-Cabernet Sauvignon

This is the second of Stockman Ridge’s interesting “left bank” and “right bank” wines from the cool climate Orange region in Australia and the 2022 vintage.  The left bank wine from the same vintage (see below the related posts below) is an excellent wine.  In this case, the right bank is a good wine and value at $45, but does not rise to the same heights. It’s a blend of 70% merlot and 30% cabernet sauvignon. The wine has aromas of oak dust and plums.  The palate is medium bodied, in proportion and has a red fruit plum character and loose knit tannins.  This wine is ready to drink now and will suit a couple of years of cellaring. Review Rating: Good to Very Good (★★★☆, 87 points). Website: Stockman’s Ridge Wines. Source: Sample. Tasted: July 2024.
