Shaw Riesling

Shaw Wines Eden Valley Riesling 2022

This wine review is of a lovely poised riesling from Shaw Wines, the Eden Valley and the 2022 vintage.  It has steel, lemon and lime aromas.  Its palate has high acidity, a light body and low alcohol (12.5).  (Very) lemon and jasmine characters complete the picture.  Interestingly enough, jasmine is a character I often associate with Canberra riesling, whereas Shaw in the Canberra region have sourced these grapes from the Eden Valley after some challenging local vintages.  This wine can be approached now and likely will age for a decade (or two) under screw cap. Rating: Good to Very Good (★★★☆, 89 points). Website: Shaw Wines. Source: Sample. Tasted: March 2023.
