Main Ridge Estate Half Acre Pinot Noir

Main Ridge Estate Half Acre Pinot Noir 2015

This wine review is of Main Ridge Estate’s “Half Acre” pinot noir from the Mornington Peninsula and the 2015 vintage. If I were to write a classification one day of the wineries of this region, Main Ridge Estate may well be a grand cru of the Mornington Peninsula. The 2015 vintage reviewed here is outstanding. The 2013 vintage reviewed earlier is also outstanding. You can read the latter review here. From the Mornington Peninsula and “up the hill” in the Main Ridge sub region, the Main Ridge Estate Half Acre 2015 has a rich, velvety and floral aroma.  On the palate, its body and power is balanced by fresh acidity.  This wine is drinking beautifully now and presents in a definitively Côte de Beaune Burgundian style.   Rating: Very Good to Outstanding (★★★★, 94 points). Website: Main Ridge Estate. Tasted: April 2023.
