This wine review is of Wolf Blass’ yellow label cabernet sauvignon. It’s something of a change of pace to review a readily available commercial wine. However, I think it’s important to taste across all price points and styles. At $15, this represents surprising value and I think the wine buyer would be satisfied with their choice. Deeply coloured, Wolf Blass’ 2021 yellow label cabernet sauvignon has aromas of pastille and sweet blackcurrants. The tannins are firm but giving and the fruit very intense. There are no edges here. This is a cleverly blended wine that overdelivers for the price and is ready to drink now. Rating: Good (★★★, 85 points). Website: Wolf Blass. Tasted: April 2023.
