This is an excellent pinot noir from Alexandre Brault, Savigny-Lès-Beaune and the 2020 vintage. Savigny-Lès-Beaune is just north of Beaune itself in the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. (A good reference on Savigny-Lès-Beaune, and every other Burgundy appellation, is the Bourgogne wines website (link here).) The 2020 vintage in Burgundy was warm, dry and early. In the glass, the wine has an alluring and captivating aroma of red fruits and fragrant florals. The palate is silkily textured and medium bodied. The finish is balanced and neither overripe nor under. A “Goldilocks” wine that is very enjoyable and can be approached now. Rating: Very Good (★★★★, 90 points). Website: Not available. Tasted: April 2023.
