Kalleske Greenock Shiraz 2021

From Kalleske, this is a Barossa shiraz of the traditional style from the Greenock Creek area and the 2021 vintage.  It is neither over the top, sculptured to be resemble a cooler climate wine in a region that is not a cool climate wine region nor a commercial wine where you wonder if the best fruit is filed away under another label.  In the glass, it has aromas of spice, warm roasted meats and menthol.  The palate is full bodied and the fruit sweet, rich and velvety in texture.  The finish is long and peppery.  This is a very enjoyable Barossa shiraz that is drinking well now.  This is great value in the $30s and could retail for the double the price for the quality.  Rating: Very Good (★★★★, 90 points).
