Jean-Claude Mas Le Pinot Grigio 2021

From the Languedoc-Roussillon in the south of France, this is a clever $20 wine from Jean-Claude Mas. Labelled as “Le Pinot Grigio”, it presents as a well balanced alternative to weightier and higher alcohol renditions of new world pinot grigio and lighter bodied Veneto. In the glass, it has aromas of lemon and almond meal. The palate is dry, medium bodied, has fresh high acidity and there is no evident oak. The alcohol is 13.0 and the style is dry, fresh and crisp. Ready to drink now, this is a refreshing pinot grigio that will suit most occasions. Rating: Good (★★★, 89 points). Website: Paul Mas Wines. Source: Sample. Tasted: February 2023.
