Ross Hill Vintage Brut 2009

Here’s another local sparkling wine made using the high quality traditional method of production.  It’s a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir and saw three years on lees.  The result is a sparkling wine with aromatics of crab apple, yellow grapefruit and a touch of biscuit, reflecting the cool climate origin of its fruit.  The palate is dry, has high acid and flavours reminding of crisp apple, some quite lees driven yoghurt characters and light flavours of honey.  Overall, this is a balanced and pleasant sparkling wine.
