This wine, labelled as Château Grand Village, is part of the stable that owns Château Lafleur in Pomerol. It’s a merlot dominant blend from the “Bordeaux Supérieur” appellation and the 2023 vintage. It’s better than the average Bordeaux Supérieur, an appellation that can be somewhat variable. It is quite “left bank” in its aromatics, with evident notes of blackcurrant and pencil lead. The palate is a little more fleshy and has a good harmony and balance to it. Drink this wine over the next 5 or so years. Review Rating: Good to Very Good (★★★☆, 88 points). Website: Château Lafleur. Tasted: September 2026.
