Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux Review

Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux 2002 Review

This wine is the “Pavillon Rouge”, the second wine of the famous Château Margaux. It’s from the 2002 vintage, a lesser vintage in Bordeaux and Margaux. Tasted at 23 years’ of age, the wine is in gentle decline. It has fully mature aromas of soy, blackcurrant, tomato stalk, cedar and coffee. The palate is medium bodied and continues the merlot characters. The palate lacks some power through its core, and the coffee and cedar characters are more prevalent than the fruit. Drink now. Review Rating: Good (★★★, 87 points). Website: Châteaux Margaux. Tasted: December 2025.  Like: Subscribe.
