Nittnaus Blaufrankisch Review

Nittnaus Blaufrankisch 2019 Review

This wine is a blaufrankisch from Anita Nittnaus Hans in Leithaberg, Austria.  Blaufrankisch is a lesser seen grape variety, but is capable of producing high quality, robust red wine in Austria. This blaufrankisch is from the 2019 vintage and labelled as “ried Lange Ohn”.  It’s a rustic wine, with aromas of leather, game and earth.  The palate has high and piercing acidity and carries on the rustic and earthy characters.  This style will have its adherents, and it is suitable for current drinking.  Review Rating: Acceptable (★★☆, 83 points). Website: Nittnaus. Tasted: October 2025.  Like: Subscribe.
