The 2008 vintage of La Dame de Montrose, the second wine of Château Montrose is just holding on. It has a mature aroma of earth and echoes of blackcurrant characters. The palate has savoury fruit with chewy, firm tannins. While pleasant enough, the palate shows a hardness to the fruit. The wine is not in full decline, but it is past its best. Cellared since purchase. Drink now. Review Rating: Good (★★★, 86 points). Website: Château Montrose. Tasted: August 2025. Like: Subscribe.
