Dürnberg Grüner Veltliner Review

Dürnberg Grüner Veltliner 2023 Review

This wine is from Dürnberg and is a grüner veltliner from the 2023 vintage. It’s from the Austrian region of Weinviertel, which is north of Vienna. The Austrians provide very clear information about their wine regions at the Austrian wine website. You can see where the vineyards are, which grape varieties are produced and the various quality levels. This wine from Dürnberg is labelled as “Falkenstein”. It’s an entry level wine, but it’s a good value one. It’s more interesting than many grüner veltliners at $20. It has aromas of celery and hints of pepper, together with lemon. The palate is dry, reasonably crisp and medium bodied. It finishes with a savoury character. The alcohol is 12.5%. Ready to drink now, you might try this instead of a sauvignon blanc or riesling. Review Rating: Good (★★★, 87 points). Website: Massanois. Tasted: February 2025.  Like: Subscribe.
