This wine is from the Uco Valley in Mendoza in Argentina and Michel Rolland. I haven’t been to the Uco Valley, nor Argentina for that matter. At 900 to 1200 metres and at the foot of the Andes, the Uco Valley looks stunning. As best I can tell, this wine is a malbec and merlot dominant Bordeaux blend. From the 2018 vintage, it has aromas of baked plums and tomato stalks, reminding of merlot. The palate is warming (the alcohol is 14.5%) and has medium length. With air, some firmer tannins emerge. This is a good expression of a Mendoza Bordeaux blend and suits current drinking. Review Rating: Good (★★★, 87 points). Website: Clos de Los Siete. Tasted: January 2025. Like: Subscribe.
