Domaine Bouvet Mondeuse Review

Domaine Bouvet Mondeuse 2021 Review

This wine is from Domaine Bouvet and is a mondeuse from the Savoie alpine region of France.  Mondeuse is little seen outside of Savoie but is of a wine style of interest.  The grape variety is genetically related to syrah.  This wine from the 2021 vintage reminds a little of a gamay with a northern Italian sensibility.  It has intense, savoury aromas of red fruits, iodine and earth.  The palate has high acidity and raspberry fruit and earth characters.  The alcohol is a modest 12%.  This interesting wine will suit drinking over the next 2 to 3 years.  Review Rating: Good (★★★, 86 points). Website: Domaine Bouvet. Tasted: January 2025.  Like: Subscribe.
