Rieslingfreak Review

Rieslingfreak No.14 2023: An In-Depth Wine Review

“Rieslingfreak” produce a near bewildering range of high quality rieslings from the Clare and Eden Valleys in South Australia.   They are labeled by number.   This wine is the riesling “no.14” and is from a single vineyard in Watervale in the Clare Valley. The 2023 vintage of the no. 14 has aromas of lees, yoghurt and minerals with fruit in the background.  The palate finishes dry and has a refreshing, linear acidity.  While a good wine, the lees and yoghurt characters are dominant and overly so for my part.   Drink over the next decade.  Review Rating: Good to Very Good (★★★☆, 88 points). Website: Rieslingfreak. Tasted: September 2024.
