This is an excellent Clare Valley riesling from Leo Buring and the 2023 vintage. It is a new release wine and tasted very young indeed, since it is after all still 2023, the year of its vintage. In this sense, riesling’s reputation as a connoisseur wine meets a rather obvious opportunity. The wine is from the Polish Hill sub region that is south of the Clare township. It has a delightful aroma of lemon and lime and a minerally impression. The palate is steely, lemon like and has high acidity. This Leonay can be approached from now or watch it mature and develop over decades. Rating: Very Good to Outstanding (★★★★☆, 94 points). Website: . Tasted: September 2023.
