Marc Brédif Chinon 2017 Wine Review

This wine review is of Marc Brédif’s 2017 Chinon from the Loire Valley.  If you enjoy Loire Valley cabernet franc, you can contrast it to recent wine reviews here of a Saumur from the same 2017 vintage and a Saumur-Champigny from the warmer 2018 vintage. The Chinon style here is similar to the Saumur wine, but with a more complex expression and just slightly more fruit intensity through the middle of the palate. Analysing the wine, Marc Brédif’s Chinon has textbook cabernet franc aromas of leaf, smoke and savoury red fruits.  Matured in stainless steel, the palate is dry, medium bodied and unoaked. It has clean fruit, high acidity, medium tannins and some fruit intensity on the middle palate.  Ready to drink now, this is pleasant drinking.  Rating: Good.  Website: https://bredif.deladoucette.frwine-searcher.com.  Reviewed: December 2020.
