The 10X Tractor team perform a wine community service by providing a lot of useful vintage information about the Mornington Peninsula wine region. The 2015 MP vintage is reported as having outstanding growing conditions, while 2014 saw lower yields and concentrated fruit. This is borne out in my tasting of these excellent new release chardonnays.

Wallis Chardonnay 2014
A complete wine. Quieter than its siblings, it has saline and cashew aromatics. The palate has depth, balance and is full bodied in expression, all with an effortless litheness. (Alc: 13.6%, Region: Mornington Peninsula, Rating: Outstanding, Drink: now to 2024)
Estate Chardonnay 2014
This is a delicious chardonnay as well. From a barrel selection of this estate’s Wallis, McCutcheon and Judd vineyards, it has lemon, saline and cedar characters on the nose. The palate is balanced with long length and mid range acidity (the wine underwent complete malolactic fermentation). It bears considerable relation to the Wallis in style, which is the source of 45% of the blend. (Alc: 13.6%, Region: Mornington Peninsula, Rating: Very Good to Outstanding?, Drink: now to 2022)
