10X Tractor new releases: rosé, sauvignon blanc and a couple of pinots

Here are some good new releases from Ten Minutes by Tractor in the Mornington Peninsula.  2015 is reported as an exceptional vintage in the region.

10X Sauvignon Blanc 2015
Not your ordinary sauvignon blanc, this is a complex and moreish style that is influenced by its 7 months in old French oak barriques.  It has aromatics of hazelnut, honey and stones and underlying hints of asparagus.  The palate finishes with good length and a balanced expression of lemon with minerally overtones.  Rating: Good

10X Pinot Noir 2015
The 10X pinot noir has rosemary, raspberry and eucalyptus on the nose, with some underlying whole bunch like characters.  The palate has nice length, lovely balance, a medium to full body and a touch of cedar (15% new French oak barriques).  A lovely, judicious wine.  Rating: Good

10X Rosé 2016
What’s not to like?  Somewhere between salmon and pink in colour and a redcurrant and floral perfume.  The palate has mid range acidity, is medium to full bodied with good length held together by its acid frame.  In balance.  Rating: Good

Ten Minutes by Tractor Estate Pinot Noir 2014
The estate pinot noir sits “above” the 10X pinot and is from a different vintage.  2014 saw ultra low yields after cold and wet conditions at flowering followed by a warm summer which concentrated the flavours.  It has rosemary, stems and roses on the nose.  The palate has fine grained tannins and lovely plush length on the finish.  In a word, “delicious”.  Rating: Very Good
