A couple of Montalto new release 2015 chardonnays

Here are a couple of new release chardonnays from Montalto in the Mornington Peninsula from the 2015 vintage.  I tasted these wines together as a comparative exercise.

Montalto Pennon Hill Chardonnay 2015
Aromatics of cashew, sulphides, grapefruit, lemon rind and melon.  The palate is full bodied, with almond meal and cashew characters and rounded acidity.  Balanced, and well presented.  Rating: Good

Montalto Estate Chardonnay 2015
A subtle step up.  Neutral aromatics, with almond meal and quince characters emerging with air.  The palate is light on its feet, with delicate and balanced melon characters.  Lovely, well made.  Rating: Good to Very Good
