After a week of moving house, I suspect I would have rated this wine highly were it lemon juice. A satisfying wine in all senses of that description, it does what Barbera d’Alba does best – it provides a hearty, warm, full bodied wine with a bit of texture. The aromatics remind of plum skin, plums and savoury cherry. On the palate, fine grained tannins, hints of earth and good fruit together leave a distinctly favourable impression. Overall, this is an enjoyable and balanced wine.
