Lark Hill Grüner Veltliner 2014

I look forward each year to the release of Lark Hill’s grüner veltliner, such is its anticipated quality.  And the 2014 vintage, despite a hot and dry summer and a wet autumn in the Canberra region, does not disappoint.  Picked in late April, the 2014 has aromatics that are quite subtle and complex with notes of talc, peach, pear, lemon, apple and apple blossom.  The palate is dry, its acidity not overdone and balanced flavours of lemon, apple and earth are evident.  This is another excellent grüner from Lark Hill.

Rating: Very Good, Abv: nothing to fret about, Price: $45, Source: sample, Vendors: http://www.wine-searcher.com/, Website: http://www.larkhillwinery.com, Tasted: 2014
