Hewitson Ned & Henry’s Shiraz Mourvèdre 2012

This is one of those “good ordinary” wines that I write up too few of.  Its aromatics remind of plum, meat, pepper, spice and baked red fruit pie.  The palate is “medium everything” – length, balance and depth.  Thyme, pepper and spice also make an appearance.  Overall, this is a good every day drinking shiraz that is balanced and reflects favourably on its region of origin.

Rating: Good, Abv: 14%, Price: $20s, Vendors: http://www.wine-searcher.com/, Website: http://www.hewitson.com.au, Tasted: 2014
