Isole e Olena is located between Florence and Siena in Tuscany, and is a name not infrequently seen on Australian shelves. Â The 2011 release of their Chianti Classico is a good one. Â Ever so slightly cloudy in appearance, it has aromatics of fresh red plums, sour cherry and florals. Â The fresh fruited character is particularly vibrant. Â The palate sees long length and balance achieved, with florals and a fruity expression of cherry prominent. Â This is a quite supple and enjoyable sangiovese, and is ready to drink now. Â
