Well, I concede that the name of this wine is the sort of thing that puts some off French wine.  It’s long, it’s complicated and, unless you know your regions, you still don’t know what’s inside the bottle!  But it’s a really good wine, it is in a style regrettably not seen in Australia and I certainly recommend it.  100% cabernet franc, it has typical Chinon aromatics of raspberry, supplemented with some reminders of tobacco and tea tree.  The palate is medium bodied, the aromatics carry through, and there’s some good length and balance too.  It’s ever so slightly, and appealingly, rustic.  A perfect food wine, although it is just fine without food too.
