The Bendigo region seems quite capable of producing very good Bordeaux style wines. This wine, with eight years of age on it, is a blend of 91% cabernet sauvignon and 9% merlot. It has mature aromatics of blackcurrant and earth. The palate sees medium length, some good acidity, and mature and balanced earth and blackcurrant flavours. I wouldn’t give it too much longer, but it’s currently drinking very well.
