Katnook Estate’s 2005 shiraz from Coonawarra, frankly, hits the spot. It has intense aromatics that remind of chocolate, spice and cedar. The palate has rich flavours of vanilla, cedar, dark plum and chocolate, with quite robust length and depth of flavour and extract. This is a powerful expression of Coonawarra shiraz that appeals due to its concentration of good quality fruit which stands up to the evident oak influence. It will reward a few more years yet in the cellar. Very Good
