Looking over my notes I liked the 2009 Xanadu Shiraz, and it turns out that the 2010 is good too. The 2010 vintage of Xanadu’s shiraz from the Margaret River is between a medium and saturated purple in colour and has aromatics reminding of plums, dried oregano and juicy blackberries. Consumed over several days, the wine has balanced flavours of plums, blackberries, plum jam, with medium length and ripe tannins.
This is a good to very good wine on the grounds of a pleasing balance of fruit flavours and length on the palate, without being over the top or underdone. The wine improved almost as long as I had it open, so I would recommend decanting it and drinking it over the next five or so years. Good (towards Very Good)
