Chateau Clerc Milon 2008

Chateau Clerc Milon in Pauillac is a label I return to year-in, year-out.  If you have a bottle of this wine, however, I would suggest leaving it in the cellar for a bit.

The 2008 vintage at this stage of its life has shut down, the lights are out, and hopefully someone will be home in a couple of years.  It is purple in colour, and bright.  The wine has aromatics that are brooding with unyielding notes of blackcurrant and cigar box.  The palate has between medium and long length, and is dominated by a building sense of blackcurrants, although it never quite hits its stride, a training session more than the main game.  Good to Very Good
