Carpineto Farnito Cabernet Sauvignon Toscana IGT 2006

Sure, it’s fashionable to drink wine made from obscure grape varieties from Italy, rather than cabernet sauvignon.  But what if doing so meant that you missed out on some extremely good wines?  Like this one …

The wine has rich aromatics of anise, earth and cassis.  Long length, chalky tannins, cassis, tobacco leaf and a combination of length and structure on the palate make this wine compelling drinking and extremely good value at around $30.  This is on my “must buy more” list.  Very Good

Great feedback, cheers. I came pretty close to calling this wine out as \”outstanding\” irrespective of its price! Will definitely be on the look out for more bottles, which hopefully are out there somewhere 🙂

Sean, this has been my favorite Cab Sauv for a long time, but has always been hard to find. I list it as the best under $30 Cab Sauv I have ever tasted.
